Who we are

StudioLebanon is a photo, video and content studio in Zouk Mosbeh, Lebanon. It is a brand of The Modern Way OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia under registry code 14961720.

The Modern Way OÜ is the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used. Because we are an Estonian company, we follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In Lebanon, we also follow Law No. 81 of 2018 on Electronic Transactions and Personal Data.

This policy covers studiolebanon.com, our gear store at studiolebanon.com/shop, and the times you contact us by WhatsApp, phone, email or social media, book a shoot, or apply to our talent network. For any privacy question, write to info@studiolebanon.com.

What we collect and why

We only collect what we need for each situation below. Next to each one is the legal reason we are allowed to use it.

When you ask for a quote or contact us

  • What: your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email, the service you are interested in, a preferred date and your message. If you message us on WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook, we also see your profile name and number on that platform.
  • Why: to answer you, send a price and book your date.
  • Legal reason: taking steps you asked for before a contract, and our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us.

When you reply to one of our ads

  • What: if you fill in a lead form in one of our Facebook or Instagram ads, Meta passes us your answers, such as your name, phone, email and budget.
  • Why: to contact you about the service you asked about.
  • Legal reason: taking steps you asked for before a contract.

When you book a shoot or rent the studio

  • What: your contact details, the booking, invoices and receipts, and how you paid (cash, Whish Money, OMT or bank transfer). If you appear in the photos or videos we make for you, those are part of the job too.
  • Why: to plan and deliver the shoot, get paid and keep the accounting records the law requires.
  • Legal reason: performing our contract with you, and our legal obligations for accounting and tax.

When you buy from our gear store

  • What: your name, phone, email, town and delivery address, the products you order, and the payment method you choose (Whish Money, OMT or bank transfer). We receive the payment confirmation; we never see card numbers.
  • Why: to confirm, deliver and support your order, including supplier warranty claims.
  • Legal reason: performing our contract with you, and our legal obligations for accounting and tax.

When you subscribe to our newsletter

  • What: your email address.
  • Why: to send you news, offers and guides from StudioLebanon.
  • Legal reason: your consent. Reply to any newsletter or write to us and we remove you straight away.

Model applications and our talent network

When you apply as a model on our application page, we collect:

  • your name, email, phone, date of birth, city and, if you choose, your address, Instagram and TikTok;
  • your modeling interests, experience, languages and personal statement;
  • your measurements: height, weight, clothing and shoe size, eye and hair colour, and any tattoos or piercings;
  • the photos you upload, your live selfie and, if you choose, side selfies and a 5-second face video recorded with your camera, and a copy of your ID or passport;
  • for applicants under 18, the name and phone number of a parent or guardian, and their consent.

Why: to consider you for paid castings, and to check your identity and age before we book you. Legal reason: your consent, which you give on the first step of the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we delete your application.

Free model portfolio builder: when you use our portfolio builder, we save your name, email, date of birth, the details and measurements you enter, every photo you upload (including ones you later replace or remove) and a copy of each portfolio you download. We keep this so our talent team can review your profile and contact you about castings. Legal reason: your consent, which you give before anything is saved.

The form saves each step when you continue, so we may receive the first steps even if you do not finish. We treat those partial applications the same way as complete ones.

Your ID copy is used for one thing only: checking your identity and age. It is kept with your application, for the same period, and deleted when the application is deleted.

If we propose you for a client's shoot, we share the profile and photos needed for that casting with that client only. If you join our talent network, we keep your profile for as long as you stay in it.

Emails we send to businesses

We sometimes email businesses and independent professionals to offer our services. We use business contact details that are publicly available, such as a company website, a business directory or a Google Maps listing.

  • What: the business or professional name, business email address and the public information about the business we need to make the email relevant.
  • Legal reason: our legitimate interest in offering relevant services to businesses.
  • Your choice: reply to any of our emails or write to us, and we stop immediately. We keep your address on an opt-out list so you are never contacted again.

Cookies and our website

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on studiolebanon.com, and there are no advertising pixels on the site.

  • Server logs: like every website, our hosting server records technical data such as IP address, browser and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working.
  • Your browser's storage: the model application form saves your typed answers in your own browser for up to 3 days, so you can continue where you stopped. Photos and ID copies are never stored there. This information stays on your device until you continue to the next step.
  • Fonts: our fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads. Google's privacy policy applies to that request.
  • Videos: our videos are hosted on YouTube. Preview images load from YouTube's servers, and the video itself loads only when you press play, in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. At that point YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
  • Essential cookies: WordPress sets cookies only if you log in or leave a comment, and our gear store uses the cookies needed to run your cart and checkout.
  • Links: WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube links take you to those platforms, where their own privacy policies apply.

Who we share data with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only when needed, with:

  • Service providers who run parts of our business for us: website hosting, font delivery (Google Fonts), email, the platform behind our gear store, messaging apps you choose to contact us on, and email-sending services for our newsletter and business emails. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
  • Payment and money transfer providers, such as Whish Money, OMT, banks and online payment providers, when you pay.
  • Delivery companies, when we ship a gear store order.
  • Clients, only for a casting you applied to or a shoot you are booked on.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

International transfers

We are an Estonian company working in Lebanon, so your data is handled in Lebanon and in the European Union, and some of our service providers store data in other countries. When personal data leaves the European Economic Area for a country without an EU adequacy decision, we use safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

We delete data once we no longer need it, at the end of these periods. They apply wherever we hold the data: our website, email, WhatsApp chats and client records.

How we protect data

  • The website runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
  • Model applications and portfolios are encrypted on your own phone or computer before they are sent: your details, photos, videos and ID copies. Only the StudioLebanon team can unlock them, with a password that never leaves our own browser. Our hosting provider, and anyone else with access to the server, cannot read them.
  • Virtual Casting links work only on the phone and browser used for the first photo. To keep your casting secure we save, encrypted in the same way, that phone's details: its model, system, browser, screen, language, time zone and basic hardware. A one-time code from us moves your casting to a new phone.
  • Model photos and ID copies are stored in a private folder that cannot be opened from the internet, and are visible only to our logged-in team.
  • Application emails to our team link to the application; photos and ID copies are never attached to emails.
  • Only the people who need the data for their work can access it.

Under 18s

Our services are for adults and businesses. Young people under 18 can apply to our talent network only with a parent or guardian, who gives their name, phone number and consent in the form, and who must be on set for every shoot. Swimsuit and lingerie castings are for adults only. A parent or guardian can ask us to see or delete their child's application at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • see the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
  • correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your data, unless the law requires us to keep it;
  • restrict how we use it, or object to how we use it, including stopping any marketing at any time;
  • receive data you gave us in a commonly used format, or have it sent to another company;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it, without affecting what was done before.

To use any of these rights, email info@studiolebanon.com. We reply within one month, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first. We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone.

If you are not happy with how we handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon), Tatari 39, 10134 Tallinn, Estonia, info@aki.ee, www.aki.ee, or to the data protection authority in the EU country where you live.
